  • Barcelona 'given green light to sign Estevao Willian'

Barcelona have reportedly been assured that they are at the head of the queue to sign highly-rated Palmeiras attacker Estevao Willian despite their financial concerns.

The 16-year-old is regarded as one of the most promising teenage talents in South America, despite only making one senior appearance for Palmeiras so far.

Estevao is already making waves at Under-20 level, though, netting twice in a 7-0 Copinha win over Queimadense on Thursday, and he was one of the stars of the 2023 Under-17 World Cup.

The 2007-born attacker could not prevent Brazil from bowing out to Argentina in the quarter-finals, but he scored three goals and set up three more during the November tournament, earning plenty of glances from across Europe in the process.

Kylian Mbappe 'agrees to join Real Madrid'

Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe has finally reached an agreement to join Real Madrid this summer, according to a report.

For the past couple of years, not a single transfer window has gone by without the 25-year-old being strongly linked with a switch to the Spanish capital, only for Real to be frustrated in their efforts time and time again.

Los Blancos failed with a €200m (£172.1m) bid in the 2021 summer window and were ostensibly on course to sign Mbappe on a free transfer in 2022, only to see the Frenchman pen an unexpected contract extension that year.

However, there was another fresh twist in the Mbappe soap opera in 2023, as the ex-Monaco man informed PSG that he would not trigger the 12-month extension option in his contract, which is due to expire this summer.

Wolves recall Luke Cundle from Plymouth loan

"Argyle can confirm Luke Cundle will return to his parent club Wolves after being recalled this evening," read a statement from Plymouth.

"The 21-year-old has made 27 appearances, scoring five goals and creating six, since joining on loan in the summer.

"Cundle will now head back to the Midlands immediately and we thank him for all his efforts in Green during his time with the club."

Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal are unlikely to sign striker in January

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has conceded that it is not "realistic" for the Gunners to pursue a new striker in the January transfer window after their attacking shortcomings came to the fore once again in a 2-0 FA Cup third-round loss to Liverpool.

The 14-time winners of the tournament were in the ascendancy for the majority of the contest against Jurgen Klopp's side, but as has been the case throughout the festive period, profligacy bedevilled them.

Reiss Nelson, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard were all guilty of missing gilt-edged chances in North London, and Arsenal were punished via a Jakub Kiwior own goal and late Luis Diaz effort into the roof of the net.

By failing to score despite having 18 attempts on goal - five of which were on target - Arsenal slumped to a third defeat on the bounce, and they have scored just one goal from an Expected Goals (xG) total of 6.47 across those 270 minutes of football.

Spurs considering move for Sevilla's Loic Bade?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Sevilla defender Loic Bade.

Spurs are closing in on making their first signing of the January window, with Timo Werner set to complete a loan move from RB Leipzig.

With Werner expected to travel to London in the coming days, Ange Postecoglou will receive a welcome addition to his forward line.

However, the Tottenham boss is still keen to bolster his options at the opposite end of the pitch, having seen both of his first-choice centre-backs - Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero - struggle with injury this season.

Conor Gallagher 'likely to stay at Chelsea this month'

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is reportedly expected to stay at the club despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Gallagher has established himself as a key player in Mauricio Pochettino's squad, having started 19 of the club's 20 Premier League games – only missing December's clash with Manchester United due to suspension.

As a reflection of his status in the squad, Gallagher has been entrusted with the captain's armband in several of his top-flight outings.

Despite being one of the first names on Pochettino's teamsheet, the England international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Timo Werner 'to complete Spurs move in coming days'

RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is reportedly expected to complete his loan switch to Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days.

Werner's future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, amid rumours over a possible move to Manchester United.

However, Tottenham Hotspur have since moved to the front of the queue, having opened talks with Leipzig over a six-month loan deal.

On Saturday, the German club confirmed Werner was "in talks with another club", ruling him out of a 1-0 friendly win over St Gallen.

Transfer rumours: Bergwijn to West Ham, Barco to Brighton, Djalo to Juventus

West Ham United have reportedly identified Ajax winger Steven Bergwijn as a potential transfer target.

The Hammers are keen to add to their attacking options, with Mohammed Kudus set to represent Ghana at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

After recruiting Kudus and Edson Alvarez from Ajax in the summer window, West Ham are plotting a move for another player from the Dutch giants.

According to The Mirror, West Ham are showing an interest in Bergwijn, who has grown unhappy during his time with the 36-time Eredivisie champions.

Man City 'willing to wait until summer to sign Kimmich'

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to wait until the summer transfer window to bring in Germany international Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old's future is currently the subject of speculation, with Liverpool and Manchester United both believed to be interested in signing him.

Kimmich has again been a vital player for Bayern during the 2023-24 campaign, making 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing six assists in the process.

However, the midfielder's contract at Allianz Arena is due to expire in June 2025, and it is understood that he could be on the move during the summer transfer window.

Man United to use Wan-Bissaka as part of Olise offer?

Manchester United are reportedly considering using Aaron Wan-Bissaka as part of a move for Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise during this summer's transfer window.

Olise has allegedly been identified by Man United's incoming minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the ideal signing in the upcoming market.

However, the 20-time English champions are likely to face competition from a number of clubs, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

According to the Daily Star, Man United hope that Palace's interest in Wan-Bissaka could help them rise to the head of the queue for Olise's signature.

Bayern 'willing to pay more than £60m for Ronald Araujo'

Bayern Munich are reportedly willing to pay in excess of €70m (£60m) for Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo during this summer's transfer window.

Araujo's future has recently been the subject of speculation, with Bayern believed to have identified him as their leading target in the middle of the defence.

The Uruguay international signed a new long-term deal at Barcelona in April 2022, with his contract due to run until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

There had been suggestions that the release clause in his deal was between €80m (£68.9m) and €100m (£86.1m), but it is understood that is not the case.

Chelsea among clubs considering Jordan Henderson move?

Chelsea are reportedly among the teams considering a January swoop for unsettled Al Ettifaq midfielder Jordan Henderson.

The 33-year-old controversially ended his glittering stint at Liverpool to join the Saudi Pro League revolution in the summer transfer window, signing a three-year deal with Steven Gerrard's side.

Given his previous support for the LGBTQ+ Community, Henderson's decision to move to a country where homosexuality is punishable by death led to enormous vilification, although he has denied that he left Liverpool for financial reasons.

Henderson has been an important cog in Gerrard's system this season, setting up five goals in 19 games for his new club, but his efforts have only been good enough to help Al Ettifaq to an eighth-placed standing in the Saudi Pro League table.

Dortmund 'reach verbal agreement to sign Chelsea's Ian Maatsen'

German giants Borussia Dortmund have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen on loan.

The 21-year-old was loaned out of Stamford Bridge for the third time in the 2022-23 season, during which he played a crucial role in Burnley's promotion back to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany.

Having shown his quality in the Championship, Maatsen returned to West London with the aim of establishing himself in Chelsea's first team, and he has made 15 appearances for the Blues in the current campaign.

However, Maatsen is yet to register a goal or assist for Mauricio Pochettino's side this term, and only three of his 15 appearances have come as a starter, including two in the EFL Cup.

Chelsea 'to pay £103m Victor Osimhen release clause this summer'

Chelsea have reportedly indicated that they are prepared to pay the €120m (£103.3m) release clause in the contract of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer.

On the back of taking home the Capocannoniere as the top scorer in Napoli's triumphant 2022-23 Serie A season, the Nigeria international was persistently linked with an exit from the Partenopei.

All of Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and clubs in Saudi Arabia were considered realistic contenders for Osimhen's signature, but Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis was after a nine-figure sum for his star man.

As a result, Osimhen's potential suitors moved on to other targets, and the former Lille man has since signed a new contract in Naples, which runs until the conclusion of the 2025-26 campaign.

Transfer roundup: Wolves want Ings, Spurs to sell Spence, Forest want Sa

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified West Ham United forward Danny Ings as a potential January transfer target.

On Sunday morning, Wolves confirmed that Sasa Kalajdzic had linked up with Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, following Fabio Silva in departing on a temporary basis to Rangers.

Gary O'Neil's side are now two strikers down and in the market for at least one replacement, with there being no particularly rush courtesy of any new arrival not being eligible to play until the Premier League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion on January 22.

Nevertheless, according to The Telegraph, Wolves may attempt to negotiate a deal for the transfer of Ings before the end of the month.

Everton 'attempting to hijack Sevilla's move for Hannibal Mejbri'

Everton are reportedly attempting to sign Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on loan for the second half of the 2023-24 campaign ahead of Spanish outfit Sevilla.

Man United recently activated an extension in Hannibal's contract, with his terms at Old Trafford now due to run until the summer of 2025.

However, the Tunisia international is widely expected to leave Old Trafford on loan this month, as his opportunities in the squad could be limited in the second half of the campaign, with both Casemiro and Mason Mount nearing returns to action.

On Saturday, it was reported that Sevilla were closing in on an agreement with both Man United and Hannibal to sign the 20-year-old on loan for the second half of the campaign.

Wolves confirm Kalajdzic loan switch to Frankfurt

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that Sasa Kalajdzic has signed for Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.

When Fabio Silva linked up with Rangers on a similar arrangement at the turn of the year, the expectation was that Kalajdzic would remain at Molineux to compete with Wolves' other attacking players.

However, at the same time as Silva's departure, reports emerged that Kalajdzic was eager to earn first-team football ahead of potentially representing Austria at Euro 2024.

Earlier this week, Gary O'Neil played down suggestions that the 26-year-old could move elsewhere, but it was claimed before Friday's FA Cup tie at Brentford that a loan deal had already been agreed with Frankfurt.

Chelsea want Antonio Silva as Thiago Silva replacement?

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race for Benfica's Antonio Silva, with the Blues preparing to bring in a replacement for Thiago Silva during this summer's transfer window.

Thiago Silva's contract with the London giants is due to expire at the end of the campaign, and it is understood that a decision has been made to let him depart on a free transfer.

The 39-year-old has again been a key player for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season, featuring on 21 occasions in all competitions, and he got his name on the scoresheet in Chelsea's 4-0 win over Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

However, according to Football Insider, he will not be signing a new deal, and the Blues are currently identifying potential replacements for the Brazil international.

Man United considering move for Tottenham's Ryan Sessegnon?

Manchester United have reportedly targeted Tottenham Hotspur full-back Ryan Sessegnon after the opening of the January transfer window.

Erik ten Hag has suffered defensive injuries throughout the season, and that has been compounded by the fact that Sergio Reguilon has been recalled by Spurs this week.

Sessegnon himself has struggled with injury problems, and only made his first appearance of the season in Friday's FA Cup win over Burnley.

The 23-year-old came on as a 83rd-minute substitute in that third round tie, but seems unlikely to break into Ange Postecoglou's side, given the emergence of Destiny Udogie this season.

Ivan Toney scores hat-trick ahead of Brentford return

Brentford striker Ivan Toney prepared for his return to competitive action with a hat-trick in Saturday's appearance for the B team.

Toney has not played a competitive match since May after he was handed an eight-month suspension for breaching the Football Association's betting regulations.

The 27-year-old missed Friday's 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup third round, but he will be eligible to play in the club's next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on January 20.

With his lengthy ban set to expire, Toney warmed up for his return to action with an impressive display for Brentford's B team on Saturday.

Leverkusen 'unwilling to sell Premier League-linked Frimpong'

Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly revealed that Jeremie Frimpong, or any of their current first-team players, are up for sale this January.

Xabi Alonso's side are currently four points clear of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga, following the club's best start to a season in their history.

The club's form has sparked rumours about the futures of some of their key players, including Frimpong, as well as Florian Wirtz and Exequiel Palacios in particular.

However, Leverkusen look set to stand firm against interest in their players, by refusing to let anybody leave during the winter window.
